I'm the first person who hates to do the same thing twice, but sometimes in life ya just gotta bite the bullet! A few years ago we introduced Text Message Alerts to the chapter as a way to find out late breaking info such as ride cancellations or changes to schedules, events, etc. So far it's been a great success, but with our new integrated membership/website platform - we are using a different text messaging system. It's pretty simple really, but it means you'll need to sign up again (if you haven't already) if you want to continue to receive text messaging alerts. In order to sign up for the text alerts you'll need to have the following...
If you have all of that - then read on!
Log into the site using the username/password you've set up.
Click on My Account, then Edit
If you would like to opt into the text messaging service – click the Send Me SMS Messages check box on your profile down near the bottom. If you have already signed up for the web site and want to receive text messages but did not check this box when you signed up – you can just log into the site using your username/password, then click My Account then Edit on the main screen.
If you decide at some point that you don't want to receive text messages - you can sign into the site with your username and password, click My Account/Edit and remove the check box from "Send Me SMS Messages" and then save it. Poof! No more text messages!
